America’s Buffalo Soldier Junior Division Graduation

Class: 1873

Platoon 1873 of America’s Buffalo Soldiers Re-Enactors Association, (ABSRA), Junior Division CAPSAG Program graduated, Saturday, December 18, 1999 at 12:00 Noon, Chaparral Park in Scottsdale with Guest Speaker Maricopa County Sheriff’s S.W.A.T. Team and Chief Patrick Cooper.

America’s Buffalo Soldiers Jr. Division candidates earn their Right-of-Passage and crossed sabers by demonstrating proficiency in physical fitness, endurance, close order drill, equestrian arts, Buffalo Soldier history, desert survival and merit. These youth also learn the value of Respect, Desire, Dedication and Discipline in achieving their goals in life via a strict Honor Code.

ABSRA’s CAPSAG Programs are culturally diverse and open to young men and women from ages 7-17. Preparations for Class 1874 are underway now. Registration and Orientation for both Senior and Junior Division is Saturday, February 5, 2000, 10:00 AM SHARP, at Omega Academy (5757 West McDowell Road).

Classes are named sequentially beginning with 1866, the year the 9th & 10th Cavalry, 24th & 25th Infantry, were commissioned by the United States Congress.

America’s Buffalo Soldiers are proud to promote Candidate Patrick Young to the rank of Private First Class and congratulate PFC Young for graduating number one in his Class of 1873.
