ABSRA’s Suspension Program
America’s Buffalo Soldiers Re-Enactors Association (ABSRA) Suspension Program is a highly disciplined arena not designed to keep students entertained but to bring them back to reality where they can function like responsible young people. ABSRA helps students be accountable for their actions whether they like it or not.
ABSRA will work with the school districts and charter schools on a zero tolerance, no nonsense basis of ten (10) days minimum school suspension. When a student’s actions violate the schools rules and call for suspension, the school will notify the parents then ABSRA and enrolled the student with parent cooperation into the ABSRA Suspension Program. During the time of suspension, (17 days total), the student will enter with an assigned lesson plan from his or her teacher and engage in additional rigorous activities of a "Boot Camp" nature with a minimum of thirty-seven (37) or forty-nine (49) students maximum.
The 17 day suspension program includes 10 days minimum suspension in addition to 7 days of pick-up, orientation and weekends before graduating and returning to assigned school. This program enables students to appreciate their education while emphasizing personal growth. Students will be assisted with their lesson plans by qualified instructors and receive additional assistance in reading, writing, arithmetic and Buffalo Soldier history.
ABSRA’s Suspension Program is designed to improve students respect, discipline, self-reliance and dexterity. All students will be involved in a stringent physical fitness program and perform close order drill. This highly disciplined program offers students skills needed to succeed in both school and life at a rate of $5.06 per hour per student.
